Powder Room Design Dilemmas

I am stuck. And of all rooms to be stuck on, it's the powder room of our new home. The friggin teeny powder room. I have to restrain myself and not over design, but I really want it to be impactful since it's small, you don't spend a lot of time in there (hopefully) and it's a wow factor for guests. So here is the design board:

Now, my issue is, what do I do with the tile, wallpaper, and paint color? Do I use all that or is it too much? Here are some quick scenarios:

Walker Zanger chevron tile for the floor and wall paneling

Using all the tile options (I'm thinking this is too much)
Not using the Walker Zanger chevron tile (makes me sad) and using wall paneling on wall
I'm thinking my favorite option is the first one. I'll be using hexagon tile in the master bath and kitchen, so maybe I could forgo it in the powder room? I literally am my own worst client...

  1. Dear Andrea,
You have some great elements but editing them is always the key to good design. I agree the middle plan is too busy and will break up a little room too much. The bottom one is the safest but that also means not as dramatic. I like the top design with the chevron tile the bes. If the wall under the chair rail is closer the the wall color above it, the room would still have impact but less broken up. That said I recently used white beadboard under the chair rail with wallpaper on top and had to keep the exixisting sauternia floor and it worked beatifully.
As a fellow blogger I would like to ask how often do you get comments? I have had over 10,000 visits over the last 2 1/2 yrs but rarely get comments. What kind of impact on your business do you get from your blog?
    Thanks and Happy Decorating

  2. Just run into your blog, and it is amazing!
As I am in process of re-decorating my room (truth be told, I always am) gave me so much pin-spiration.

I would go for pebble tiles for the floor (not in any scenario), but without any ceiling wallpaper...
