Kelly Wearstler's Beach House

In Metropolitan's latest issue (moment of silence for ANOTHER cancelled home magazine) interior designer, Kelly Wearstler's beach house was featured. I was anxious to see this, considering she has some of the craziest tastes you will ever find. Her outfits are, well let's just say, entertaining:

Her fashion sense is a mirror image of how she designs, which is a good thing. (she doesn't always dress crazy, she actually is a very fashionable woman). Check out this match of her fashion and design:

Anyway, I really loved the bedroom in her beach house. So much so, that it inspired an outfit for me to design!

Cynthia Rowley: Design Powerhouse

I love Cynthia Rowley, not only because she's an amazing fashion designer, but because she's an amazing home interiors designer, too. She totally gets the way fashion and interiors feed off of each other. Check out some of her runway designs for Spring 2010:

This is her Manhattan home (very much inspired by her fashion sense, it's almost identical to the dress above!):

She recently designed a home line for Target and I actually just picked up some bath towels at TJ designed by her. Also, if you haven't ever checked out her handbag line, what are you waiting for?

There was an article about her in that Oprah home magazine I told you about, and she had a lot of good suggestions like:

"A house needs surprises-like my bright white bathroom tiles that glow in the dark!"

"Overaccessorizing can spoil a room. That timeless fashion rule-get completely dressed, then take one thing off-also works with interiors. Edit, edit, edit. A space with excessive tchotchkes is unsettling".

I have a feeling we'd be best friends if she knew me. Just a hunch...

Calling All Mommies-to-Be

After yesterday's post where I added the neutral nursery, I got inspired to check out some more designs for baby rooms. All I have to say is nurseries have come a long way...

Is it a boy or girl's room? Who knows and who cares. P.S. I'm all for wallpapering ceilings.

Breath of Fresh Air

Sometimes a neutral palette can be ahhh so refreshing. I find it very hard to remain neutral in both my attire as well as my interior designs. After perusing these images, I think I need to re-examine the awesomeness that is beige:

Definitely not ready for the babies, yet, but love the serenity this nursery provides. And there's just the right amount of chic with this chandelier:
