Design Tip of the Week
Normally, I post my Design Tip of the Week on my Facebook (which if you haven't liked my page, I'd be oh so grateful if you did!) but I wanted to show a few photos of my latest tip. My husband is a major fan of high gloss white trim, and while yes it does create a gorgeous contrast, I'm much more interested in playing with different trim color ideas lately. My booth for the home show has lots of detailed trim, and I opted to create a nice clean look by painting it the same color as the wall. By doing this, you still have the architectural interest without it screaming in your face. Isn't it so pretty:
I'm loving how it turned out, but no sneak peeks! I want to reveal it all at once, just like on HGTV. Yes, I know this is nothing like HGTV, but a girl can pretend...
It's very similar to fashion when one color is worn head to toe, don't you think?

Weekend Recap
How is it Monday already? Hope you had a nice weekend! I had a really fun event I went to that is put together by a young professionals group in my area. Here's what I wore (please excuse the terrible iPhone pic):
The amazing jewels are from Sorrelli:
I also had to stop by Neiman Marcus Last Call to return a sweater and popped into the Michael Kors outlet. Found this amazing tweed Chanel-esque jacket for $40. Yea, you read that right, $40. I think the sales girl thought I had something wrong with me.
I will say, yet again, isn't black and gold so perfect for each other?

Life's Little Lessons
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do - Steve Jobs

My latest fashion picks for Spring!
And here's what I wore today to run around for a client meeting and antique furniture hunting for my booth:
By the way, I'm totally thinking I need this artwork from Etsy:

March Madness
It's Maaaarch! My birthday month! Also the month Fashionable Interiors is going to get a makeover :) And the month daylight savings begins, aka I come out of winter hibernation. I'll also be hitting up the Architectural Digest Home Show later this month, which I'm super pumped about. And on a completely unrelated note, I'm starting the month off with a pop of red + gold. I got this amazing bag in Florence on my honeymoon. Gotta love this classic color combo:

Home Show Design Board
This week has been craziness so far, but I'm so excited! My couch came in!! It's the black leather one pictured in the design board I quickly threw together. I'm designing my booth for our local home show and here's what I have so far:
Kind of a Parisan vibe. I'm loving the idea of painting the wall a lilac gray to go against the black furniture and charcoal gray floor. Gray and lilac look so pretty together.
I'm also doing an enter to win at the show, so if you're local, be sure to stop by the Reading Expo Center next weekend!
