Home Show Design Board

This week has been craziness so far, but I'm so excited! My couch came in!! It's the black leather one pictured in the design board I quickly threw together. I'm designing my booth for our local home show and here's what I have so far:

Kind of a Parisan vibe. I'm loving the idea of painting the wall a lilac gray to go against the black furniture and charcoal gray floor. Gray and lilac look so pretty together.

You're My Best Friend

Ok, spill it. What are your thoughts on the emerging friendship bracelet trend? At first, I was kinda like eh, but now I'm kinda like oooo....Target has an amazing collection of them for around $4 a piece. I only bought 2, and they were definitely not the bright colored ones I have pictured here. I think it's a fun way to inject some playfulness into an otherwise serious look.

Target also had some really fun, brighly colored jewelry. I especially loved this one long chain necklace, which I will now be returning to purchase it, that was dip dyed with fun bright colors. It had a sort of Bohemian vibe, which is not my style, but everyone could use a little bohemian in their look, no?

Anyway, what a stack of friendship bracelets can do to an outfit reminds me a lot of what a suzani print can do to a room:

Minty Fresh

How amazing was the cover of this month's House Beautiful? I was so excited when I pulled it out of the mailbox. First, hello gorgeous dome chair. I will own one of you in my life time. And minty green? The color that seems to be everywhere lately? L-o-v-e. I had a gel manicure yesterday and was very tempted to get the mint green, but I don't know how I feel about looking at it for 2 whole weeks. (which is how long gel manicures last. If you haven't gotten one, you don't know what you're missing!)

By the way, I'm obsessed with the above color combination. Isn't it amazing?? I'm definitely loving the idea of wearing a wispy mint dress with a bold red lip.

Alternative Coffee Table Ideas

In my quest to design our company's trade show booth, I am in need of some sort of coffee table. I really do not want to purchase one since I'd rather not spend the money and most fit well in only certain room designs. I need something versatile that I could possibly use later down the road, in a client's project or in a showroom. I have a small settee I'm using and it's only a 10' x 10' booth size, so a large table isn't necessary. I'm loving the idea of using a small, but taller side table. Ok, so I totally scored that leather full skirt from the White House Black Market outlet in Orlando. I was so excited since I was there last year and found my beloved leather leggings. Definitely need to frequent this place more often....

I then chickened out with the whole no tights theme in February and changed into this:

That little sweatery jacket is going to be a work horse in my wardrobe, I just know it. I got it at the Loft President's Day sale. Hurry, there's still time!

I also found pussy willows at the grocery store!! Do you have any idea what this means?? Spring is sure to come!!

I ate waaay too many blood oranges:

Spent waaay to much money on cheeses, but was oh so worth it. A pesto, a tomato, and an onion cheese? Hell yes...

Ahh, where to begin! I have lots and lots to blabber about, but the pile of work on my desk does not a blabber time make. (does that make sense at all??) Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi and how much I am loving non-traditional colored cheetah prints right now:

I scored a really cute midi pleated red cheetah print skirt while I was away and can't wait to wear it! Although they look best with bare legs and heels, especially if you have little stumpy legs like mine...here's to hoping for warm weather soon!

Blogging From the Sunshine State

Things have been a little quiet around here lately since I'm in Orlando for the International Builders Show. Honeycomb Pattern

First, I love honey. I use it every single day in my tea. Second, I love the honeycomb pattern. If I was not terrified of bees and swelled up like a Macy's Thanksgiving day parade balloon when I get stung, I would so have a bee hive.
