Last Few Weeks of Summer

Even though the weather shows no signs of Fall on the horizon, I have a feeling it's just around the corner! How about some summery green and pink to capture the last few weeks of the season... (P.S. not sure what season of Marc Jacobs that outfit is from, but I love how the bright colors are used in a wintry outfit)

Wedding Invitations Complete!

I can breathe a massive sigh of relief now that my wedding invitations are in the mail! Here's a sneak peek, just for my lovely readers:
Looks like these lovely interiors, no?

I can't take all the credit for the design, though. I had an amazing designer working with me and I stole some inspiration from this invite. Hope you like them! Only 7 more weeks!!

Girl Crush: Olivia Palermo

Normally I tend to shy away from any sort of celebrity figure on Fashionable Interiors. Not that I have a problem with them or won't ever us them, but I just prefer to feature street fashion styles instead. However...lately I've developed a girl crush on Olivia Palermo. I never watched her show, so I know nothing about her except that the girl's got style. P.S. Did you know it's rumored that Blair Waldorf's character was based off of her?? I think I can relate so well because there's always something classic and lady-like in her outfit. And her apartment? She may have redecorated by now, but I'd take it in a heartbeat...

Layering

I read an old issue of Glamour recently and read a great piece of advice that made me think hellloo why did I not think of this before?? It was a little blurb on how to dress, etc. and the one that stuck with me was if you like an outfit and it looks good on you, repeat, repeat, repeat. Some of you may read that and be like yea duh, but for me it was like a revolution. You know those days where you're like I really love the outfit I have on, and then other days you're like meh, it's ok. Learn what you did that day you loved the outfit and repeat it in some way, shape, or form every day. So simple, but makes a ton of sense, no?

Anyway, enough of my ranting. Have you noticed Fall is on the horizon? I have because my life has been consumed with wedding talk leading up to the last 8 weeks before the big day. So yes, this Fall will be extra special for me, but regardless I looooove it more than any other time of year. With Fall comes boots and scarves and trenches and my personal favorite, layering. It really is an art, and believe me, you could end up looking like a crazy bag lady faster than you can say, "I love my 20 cats". Check out how well Banana Republic has done with their styling for Fall. I'm really loving their collection for the season:

Layering for a room has the same concept as putting together an outfit. Layering pillows and rugs on top of one another add such a more pleasing look to the eye. But again, take it easy or else the room will end up looking messy. Check out these interiors below for some great inspiration:
The layering concept can also be applied to a bookcase. It's all about adding extra dimensions:
And adding multiple layers to a bed makes it feel like a hotel:

Olive Green

Hello! Yes, I am alive. Coming back from a week of vaca to finishing the wedding planning and a pile of work to do = not fun. But the plus side is I've conjured up a ton of blog posts for this week! Let's kick off Monday with an ode to olive green. My latest obsession thanks to the military trend, I've added olive green skinny cargos and shorts to my wardrobe so far. And don't kill me for talking about fall, but I'm excited to add an olive green coat to my collection! I love this JCPenney one, especially the price tag of $150. Here's some more pics to get you inspired:

Olive green can also be considered a neutral when decorating in my opinion. I say use it instead of tan or cream and see what happens! I love what these rooms have done with it:
