Summer Brights
I found this old image from a past Domino issue and loved it so much, it inspired me to create a matching outfit. Doesn't it just make you smile? Oh Domino, I'd give anything to have you back in my life...

Classic...
Is there anything better than a red dress topped off with a trench? Red and tan can't get any more classic than this...

Now You See it, Now You Don't
Who knew camouflage could be this inspirational? Lately, I've been seeing a lot of designers pull ideas from the old print and making it their own. Check out Stella McCartney's shorts:
And J.Crew's recent print, a floral take on camo:
Or Marc Jacobs' camo scarf:
I'll be honest, it's extremely difficult to incorporate camo into an interior design without it looking like a hunting lodge, but what we can pull from the print is the color scheme:
Enjoy your day!

White Out
Someone like myself finds it very difficult to stick to an all white color scheme. In fact, I'm going to make it a personal mission to wear all white the next time the opportunity comes up (and it will be before my October wedding). Decor-wise, forget it. I can't make promises I do not intend to keep. The reason I am pondering over the color white is because our latest speculative home we are putting up is requiring the kitchen cabinets and counter tops to be chosen by yours truly. The home builder has never gone with white kitchen cabinets, but I really want to take the risk. The kitchen is a lot smaller than our normal ones, so what better way to brighten it up than with white kitchen cabinets? Here's some great inspiration:
Let's take baby steps for this whole white outfit thing, and discuss a wardrobe staple, the white tee. My white J.Crew boyfriend tee has been getting some serious mileage lately. Just look how chic they can be:
I have to say, the black counter tops are what makes the white cabinets pop in this kitchen:
Loooove the gray walls. This kitchen is a dream come true:

This is as close to an all white outfit as I can get. Anyway, my point with this outfit is a white tee can be easily dressed up:
What's your thoughts? Would you wear a white tee all dressed up?

American Fashion Designers At Home
I feel like I have been living under a rock for the past 2 months, because I'm totally out of touch with what's going on the interior design/fashion worlds. Totally didn't know Design Star started again and was not aware of the new book set to release in September called American Fashion Designers at Home. Here's what I stole off of Assouline's site:
After perpetual traveling and the crushes of Fashion Week, designers, too, need a retreat from couture’s glittering society. And what do the homes of fashion arbiters look like?
CFDA Designers at Home offers an intimate look into the private quarters of more than 100 members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America—including Diane von Furstenburg, Cynthia Rowley, Kate Spade, Bob Mackie, Johnson Hartig, and Derek Lam—and offers a stunning photographic tour of the domestic side of fashion.
Can't wait!

New Lonny!
I've been going to Lonny's website pretty much on a daily basis, awaiting the arrival of their next issue. It felt like Christmas morning when I went on their site today and saw the new issue! Be sure to check it out... P.S. Passed my real estate test! You'll be seeing a lot more activity on Fashionable Interiors now.

Bob Envy
I cheated on studying for my real estate test and found this image of the asymmetrical bob that everyone and their mother got in '08, including myself. I loved it... would I really be beating a dead horse to get it again after the wedding? (P.S. I think what attracts me so much to this pic in addition to the cut is the fact that the girl kind of looks like me??)

Outdoor Retreats
Hi it's me! Remember, the girl who loves all things fashion and interior design? I FINALLY scheduled my real estate test for later this month, so hopefully I pass and in return will receive my life back.
In the meantime, my furious studying has been taking place on my back teeny patio since the weather has been amazing here. I finally lugged out all my pots to hopefully plant things before the first freeze. If I could have any outdoor retreat, these would be my top choices:

And what would I wear while studying in my outdoor oasis? So glad you asked...
